Comprehensive Eye Exam

Healthy eyes and vision are especially important for infants and children. The visual skills developed during early life set the foundation for future learning. From birth, your child uses vision for learning and development. If your child is unable to respond or read at his or her age, the doctor provides an accurate evaluation using specialized objective procedures. In addition to a thorough internal and external eye health evaluation, the doctor will analyze the vision-related learning binocular skills like focusing, tracking, eye teaming, color and depth perception. The office has a playroom as well, so your child can warm up and have playtime so he or she can feel comfortable with the doctor during the examination.

Contact Lens Exam

If you are ever interested in incorporating contact lenses into your lifestyle, we can help! No need to worry if you have astigmatism, a high prescription, or even if you need bifocals! Once you’ve mastered contacts, we check your corneal health yearly to ensure your contact lens prescription is up to date!

Glaucoma

If you’ve been diagnosed with glaucoma, you’re probably already familiar with the typical options in glaucoma treatment – eye drops, laser treatment or traditional surgery. While these are certainly effective, especially when glaucoma is diagnosed early, researchers have been working hard to offer new glaucoma treatments. Our doctor provides screening and management for patients who are at risk for glaucoma. Our sophisticated equipment assists our doctor in determining the status of glaucoma and help monitor the patient’s condition. We recommend all our patients to have glaucoma screening annually.

Diabetes

If you are ever diagnosed with diabetes, your primary care doctor will likely recommend extra close monitoring of your eyes. Diabetic eye disease is the number one loss of vision in working-aged adults. High blood sugar can affect every part of the eye, but the most common changes we see are in the retina. We would look for tiny bleeds in the back of the eye and refer you out for treatment if these bleeds became vision threatening. The best prevention of vision loss with diabetes is through lifestyle changes and by working closely with your doctor to lower blood sugar of course! Lets partner together to help you be healthy!

Macular Degeneration

Macular degeneration, commonly referred to as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), is the single largest cause of sight loss in the developed world and affects more than 10 million Americans. It usually affects people over the age of 60 but has been known to affect those who are younger. It is a painless condition that usually affects both eyes with the loss being experienced in the central vision. It does not affect the peripheral vision, meaning that it does not cause total blindness.
